The sun was out. When I’m leaving. Like THANKS la. Managed to get a glimpse of Venice under the sun before I departed for Florence in the morning.. and I realized Venice transport system (i.e. by water) though unique and not forgetting extremely expensive, it’s painfully inefficient too. If u need that transport to get to a certain place by a certain time, to all the potential travelers out there, give it more time. Like 15 minutes more should be rather sufficient.
The “parking” and “getting-it-to-move” or “steering-in-the-right-direction” takes up quite a bit of time and it’s really a pain-in-the-ass especially when u’re rushing for time.
Travelers advice. Shall include in my INSTEP report~
When I reached Florence, i got lost. Like for around 10 minutes, details of which I shall not note it here~ but when I reached Florence, I got an ultimate ultimate shock. My hostel was like IN THE WOODS.
Literally.
“Are you serious!?” -> yes I am. Unfortunately. It was so “in-the-woods” that I din dare to walk up the slope, into the “path-to-hostel”, even under the bright sunlight today. It took me like 10 minutes just to walk to somewhere, where the hostel is in sight.
Alleluia. Congrats to Kelly. Test for traveling alone.
But anyhow, I dropped my bag in the hostel, and left for the centre. Walked so much today that I think I will have muscle ache tomorrow!!! The guy selling me the transport ticket told me “in Florence, everything is walkable.” Yups Singapore is also walkable from the East to the West. It jus depends on how long! CHEH.
To me, Florence is seriously,… SUPERB. Nicer than Venice in my opinion. (perhaps it’s the weather~) the buildings in Florence is so cute. They kinda liked big bricks~ and it made the buildings look like chocolate houses~
The Duomo is like the main attraction, other than the museums of cos~ and it’s really GIGANTIC. It’s like, Notre Dame (the one in PARIS) thickness X 3 times?? The exterior is also elaborate~ with blue and gold and white. All around the building. And I went inside… but it’s quite spacious. A.k.a empty.
(And I walked and see a lot of things and if I write all of them down I it’ll be like 10 pages long~)
As if the adventure starting from day 1 at Venice is not exciting enough, I had to walk up that slope AGAIN, AT NIGHT, to get back to hostel. I was never so worried about going back hostel. NEVER. Not even at the hostel I stayed at Paris where there are people selling all sorts of things on the streets.
This is like ULU-ATED. To the maximum. It’s like fright night in reality. Survival of the least-scared-of-the-dark. For a person who hates darkness and is kinda afraid to be alone (IN THE DARK) and having to walk through a forest at the same time,…
I gotta say, I’m glad I’m alive and be able to write this is the hostel. Well done Kelly. You feel accomplished~
Next up, lean together~ with PISA.
